Xiaomi launches cheapest Mi Air Purifier 2 @9999
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi on Monday made its entry into Indian home appliances industry with its Mi Air Purifier 2. Hugo Barra, Xiaomi CEO talked about pollution being a major risk factor in India and said that the Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 could help tackle this. The Mi Air Purifier 2 was launched in China 10 months before coming to India, which is priced at Rs 9,999. The Mi Air Purifier 2 is now available for sales in India and can be bought from Xiaomi’s official website.
In order to purchase the item, the customers would first have to register on mi.com. They also have to check the COD (cash on delivery) option along with the product’s availability in the area. Xiaomi is to conduct the next sale for the Mi Air Purifier 2 on October , on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti at 2 AM. The MI Air Purifier 2 weighs in at 4.8kg and has a 360-degree cylindrical filter inside. The filter is designed to remove the PM2.5 dust particles from the environment that is derived from the air conditioners, pet hair and germs. It is also supposed to filter bad odour. If Xiaomi is to be believed, their purifier can circulate purified air in about 10 minutes in a 21 sq metre room.
The Mi Air Purifier 2 has a single motor with dual mixed boosted fans and a 3 layered filter. Each filter is expected to last up to a period of 6 months. Once exhausted, the replacement filter would cost the consumer up to Rs 2,499. The company says that the ai purifier can offer cleaner air at a delivery rate of 310m3/h. Xiaomi has also claimed that the air purifier is 11% quieter and 58% more effective than its predecessor.
The Mi Air Purifier 2 comes with a built-in Wi-Fi that connects to the user’s home network. It works with the Mi Home app which is available for both iOS and Android devices. The user can turn on and off the air purifier using the app and control the air quality, temperature and humidity sensor. Users can also adjust the fan speed. The app is to send alerts when the filters need to be changed.
