Anand Mahindra replaces plates with banana leaves in factories
New Delhi: As the Coronavirus cases continue to rise across the country. To help the farmers in these tough times, industrialist Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to reveal that he received a message from a former journalist which compelled him to work towards the devastated plight of the struggling banana farmers.
Mahindra immediately took the measure to help out the farmers by ensuring that the canteens run by his factories would start procuring banana leaves as plates. The move to help out the banana farmers came on the insistence of former journalist Padma Ramnath, Anand Mahindra revealed on Twitter.
“A retired journalist, Padma Ramnath mailed me out of the blue & suggested that if our canteens used banana leaves as plates, it would help struggling banana farmers who were having trouble selling their produce. Our proactive factory teams acted instantly on the idea…Thank you!,” tweeted Anand Mahindra.
