Coronavirus effect: Complete list of exams, entrance and recruitment tests postponed and rescheduled


New Delhi: The deadly coronavirus has created a havoc across the globe and has infected around 2 lakh people in over 150 countries. The novel virus, which originated in China’s Wuhan, has also claimed lives of over 8,000 people so far.

In India, the virus has infected 168 people, and has claimed lives of 3 people, forcing several state governments to place region under a partial shutdown. States including, Delhi, Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh among others have ordered the closure of schools, colleges, gyms, night clubs and also advised the corporate offices to allow their employees to work from home.

Various exams including the recruitment exams and CBSE, ICSE board exams have also been suspended till March 31 throughout the country, in order to contain the further spread of the coronavirus.

Here is the list of exams being cancelled or rescheduled

Admission Tests

MAH MCA 2020 has been postponed till April 30, 2020. Earlier the exam was scheduled to take place on March 28.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has also decide to postponed its admission tests for class sixth and ninth. Earlier the exams were scheduled to take place on March 22 and March 29 respectively.

Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) also postponed Bihar D.El.Ed Joint Entrance Exam 2020 in wake of the coronavirus. The exam was earlier scheduled to take place on March 28, 2020.

National Level Exams

The MHRD has postponed the JEE Main 2020 exam till March 31. However, the new dates will be announced after March 31. Earlier the JEE Main exam 2020 was scheduled to take place on April 5, 7, 9 and 11.

List of School and College Level Exams

UGC has asked all the Universities and Colleges to postpone exams till March 31, 2020.

The CBSE on Wednesday evening informed that the board exams for class 10th and 12th has been postponed till March 31 in view of the coronavirus. The board also said that the revised dates for the exams will be notified by March 31 after the reassessment of the situation.

Class 8th exams cancelled in Goa

The UP government on Wednesday announced that students of classes 1 to 8 in all UP government schools will be promoted without giving the exmas. The government also announced closure of all educational institute till April 2 in the state.

Department of Higher Odisha, Semester Exams Postponed Except Final Semester/Annual Exam

IIT Kanpur  and IIT Delhi has also suspended its classes and postponed the exams till March 31.

ICSE and ISE board exams were also postponed till March 31 by the board after the UGC recommendation. The board also said that the revised dates will be announced in due course of time.

The board of school education Haryana (BSEH) has also postponed the remaining class 10 and 12 board exams scheduled from March 19 to March 31 in view of the coronavirus. The Haryana government also cancelled the annual examinations for class 1 to class 8 in all private and government schools.

List of Recruitment Exams

The Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) recruitment exam for the post of constable in the border guarding force was postponed due to the coronavirus, The exam was scheduled to take place on March 22 across 11 cities in the country.

RBI Assistant Main Exam to be held on March 29

Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) also postponed the exam for the recruitment of assistant engineer till March 31. The exams were earlier scheduled to take place on March 21, 22, 28 and 29.

UPPSC BEO examination sceduled on March 22nd.

Delhi Higher Judicial Services Main 2019 exam was also postponed. Earlier the exam was scheduled to be conducted on March 14 and March 15. The revised dates will announced later.

The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) has also postponed several recruitment exams in view of the coronavirus.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police has also postponed the physical endurance test for the post of constable. It has also postponed the physical standard test for the recruitment of 02 border battalions.
