WhatsApp for iPhone is all set to add new features like the option to add personal and content Stickers on images, replay privately, and other new features. WhatsApp beta update for iOS version 2.19.10.21 is out for public beta programme users. Notably, WhatsApp introduced the beta programme to iOS users after opening its beta programme for Android users.

Unfortunately, the WhatsApp beta programme is full and interested users can keep an eye on WABetainfo, which is one of the biggest sources of WhatsApp beta updates before they are available to general users. The new features are likely to be available to general users in the coming weeks. Currently, the new features are visible to the beta programme users. WhatsApp is also rumoured to add features like Dark Mode and more new features in the coming months.

What’s new

  1. Stickers on images
WhatsApp is adding the ability to add Stickers on pictures, videos, and even GIFs. Notably, WhatsApp added Location Sticker long back but has now extended support for content Stickers like time and location alongside Personal Stickers. WABetainfo reports that WhatsApp for iPhone has refreshed section for adding Stickers.
The most notable addition is where users can add Stickers from third-party apps. There is an option to resize them as well. Additionally, users can mark a Sticker as a favourite which will show up in recently used emoji, GIF, and Sticker tab.
  2. 3D Touch action for Status
WhatsApp users will be soon able to check Status with iPhone’s 3D Touch which will mean that you can see peek into the Status and will also get a mute option. The feature is currently available to WhatsApp beta users on iPhone. It should be available to general users in upcoming updates.
WABetainfo points out that the new 3D Touch action for Status will also allow users to check Status without sending read receipt which could be an excellent feature for a lot of WhatsApp users.
  3. Group Stickers management
WhatsApp for iPhone users will also get the new Sticker management option which means that you can individually save or delete a Sticker received on WhatsApp. Currently, if you receive two Stickers, WhatsApp bundles them as one.
The beta update brings an option to check message info of the Sticker where users can delete or mark favourite. This feature will be a handy one considering that Stickers is now a favourite feature on WhatsApp.
  4. Reply privately
WhatsApp added Reply privately option for Android and iOS users long back. However, the messaging app has enhanced the private reply feature. According to WABetainfo, the latest WhatsApp for iOS 2.19.10.21 will automatically open the chat with the sender quoting the message in the group when someone taps on a message sent using the Reply privately option.
