Only one reservation form will be accepted from one person at a time, however, if the Return Journey is also a part of the journey, then the passenger can use two to three forms.
When a berth is reserved for a traveler, its purpose is to provide space for 9 p.m to 6 a.m. for sleeping.
Those travelers whose tickets are in the RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) category, sitting seats are available for the first time and they can also be provided with berth after some time. This happens in a situation where many passengers cancel their tickets in the last minute or the passengers do not reach the station on time.
Reservation application on Reservation Counter is accepted till 4 hrs before the departure of the train (departure), after which this facility is not available. After this, reservations can be done on existing counters at stations one hour before scheduled departure.
