300 passengers flee from Silchar airport to avoid mandatory COVID-19 test

Silchar: Over 300 air passengers who had landed at Assam’s Silchar airport on Wednesday skipped the mandatory COVID-19 testing and fled from the testing centre.

The authorities have said that the government will initiate criminal action against the people.

As per the new rules brought by the Assam government to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, arriving in the state have to undergo Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and RT-PCR tests on arrival.
